Alan is an experienced real estate lawyer specialising in property sales, acquisitions, leasing and construction. He has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in property and commercial law having worked in not-for-profit firms, top-tier firms as well as being in-house counsel for the federal government and private developers. Prior to joining Thornton + King, Alan ran the boutique law practice known as Atilla Law.
Alan is well regarded for providing practical and strategic legal advice on a wide range of property deals and takes pride in his ability to problem solve and form productive relationships with his clients. He utilises his extensive experience to assist his clients in all manner of conveyancing, leasing and property law transactions, and is skilled at providing advice that is tailored to his client’s strategic objectives.
Alan has worked on all types of complex property transactions, including:
- The land acquisition of the site that is now Movie World in Queensland.
- The acquisition of a development site which was converted into 50 lots and sold to a government department for social housing.
- Multiple sales and acquisitions of large commercial buildings, with transaction values ranging between $10million to $300million
- Countless lease negotiations acting for both landlords and tenants, including representing large organisations like the Salvation Army and the Commonwealth Bank, and assisting numerous clients secure tenancies in Westfield and other large retail locations.
