Our History

Founding Vision

In 2010, Vanessa Caputo established Caputo Lawyers in Balmain, New South Wales. Drawing from her extensive experience as in-house counsel at Jones Lang LaSalle and her tenure in property, planning, and environmental law, Vanessa aimed to create a client-centric firm that demystified legal complexities and delivered practical solutions. Her approach emphasized clear communication, efficiency, and a results-driven ethos.

Evolution into Thornton + King

Recognizing the need for a more distinctive identity and broader service offerings, Caputo Lawyers rebranded to Thornton + King. This transition marked a commitment to expanding legal expertise while maintaining the firm's foundational values. The new name reflects a modern, approachable image, aligning with the firm's vision of providing accessible and effective legal services.

Commitment to Community

From its inception, Thornton + King has been deeply rooted in the Sydney community. The firm's growth has been driven by its dedication to understanding and addressing the unique legal needs of individuals and businesses in the region. By fostering strong relationships and delivering tailored legal solutions, Thornton + King has become a trusted partner for many.
