Accredited Specialist in Property Law

An Accredited Specialist in Property Law is a lawyer who has been recognised as a specially competent practitioner in property law and conveyancing.

Less than 0.5% of the lawyers in New South Wales have been recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Property Law.

In order to be awarded the title of Accredited Specialist in Property Law, a lawyer must meet the following criteria:

  1. They must have practised as a lawyer for at least five years.
  2. Their last three years (at minimum) must have been spent practising predominantly in property law.
  3. They must pass a series of rigorous peer reviewed assessments which are conducted by the Law Society of NSW. The assessments include mock client files, sit down examinations, interview panels, and reference checks.
  4. If a lawyer is awarded the title of Accredited Specialist in Property Law, they must maintain their accreditation by complying with additional ongoing training and development, as well as having to re-apply for accreditation each year.

Being recognised as an Accredited Specialist is a commitment to achieving the highest of professional standards. It’s a mark of excellence within the legal profession.
